Snickers Shake

Those of you that have been with me since the start will know that my 2 favourite foods are dark chocolate and peanut butter. They are pretty much their own, essential food group for me (essential for my sanity). Good enough on their own but put them together and I am all over it. I recently held a giveaway with Nutristrength the other day and they very generouslyΒ sent me their Roasted Cocoa Whey Protein, which I put to good use in this smoothie.

This chocolatey, peanut buttery banana goodness is ideal pre- or post-workout, providing you with a delicious combination of carbs, healthy fats and protein. If you don’t have chocolate protein powder, then use whatever flavour you have, such as vanilla, and add 1/2tbsp cacao powder for a more chocolatey hit.

Serves 1


1 banana

1 scoop Nutristrength Roasted Cocoa Whey Protein (or other chocolate protein)

1tsp cacao powder

15g peanut butter

Pinch of cinnamon

200ml almond milk

Loads of ice (the more ice you add, the thicker and more voluminous your smoothie will be, so don’t go easy with it!)

Cacao nibs, to top



Whizz it all up (except for the cacao nibs) in your blender, pour into a glass, top with the cacao nibs and enjoy!
